Jane Lewes is a dynamic development professional with a proven track record in motivating individuals and groups to identify and achieve their learning goals in her roles of consultant, facilitator, coach and mentor. Working in “work-based” learning environments, Jane uses participative methods to encourage, enthuse and empower people from diverse backgrounds to work through their barriers, identify solutions and take responsibility for their own personal and professional development. A powerful communicator and natural innovator, she has designed and delivered an impressive range of learning programmes and materials to promote individual and group development. Her personal philosophy about the education process is “learning is more effective when it’s fun”.
In recent years Jane has designed and delivered a range of bespoke Coaching and Mentoring in the Workplace programme for a number of organisations including: Metropolitan Police, London Boroughs of Islington and Hackney (Graduate Training Programmes), Islington Housing Services (Positive Action programmes), Eurocontrol Brussels and Maastricht (Coaching Skills for Middle and Senior Managers). Many of these programmes were accredited by OCR, enabling participants to obtain a recognised qualification.
Jane’s “Connections to Opportunities” programme aimed at providing coaching and mentoring to employers supporting long-term workless returners back into sustained employment, won Advantage West Midlands “Transferable Best Practice” Award. This led to the acclaimed “First Base” and “Ready, Steady, Go” coaching and mentoring at work programmes for employers participating in Birmingham City Council’s Apprenticeship Schemes. The retention rates of apprentices associated with both schemes have been significantly higher than the national average..
